Project
Management Training
Project management has been identified by
the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the General Accounting
Office as a critical success factor for managing information technology
(IT) investments and obtaining funding approvals. This training
reflects Interior's commitment to provide certified project managers
for all major IT projects and investments. Participants who complete
a series of courses may qualify for a Project Management Associates
Certificate or Masters Certificate from George Washington University
or can use the series to prepare for project management certification
from the Professional Management Institute. The first two classes
in the series have been offered in Denver and Washington, DC. Additional
classes will be offered in the future, pending guidance from OMB
and Interior's Office of the Chief Information Officer. For more

DOI
Safety and Occupational Health Online Training Series
The DOI Safety and Occupational Health Online Training Series offers
online courses on specific safety and health topics. This training
is sponsored by the Department's Safety and Occupational Health
Council and the Office of Occupational Health and Safety, and is
available to Interior employees free of charge. The courses provide
information on legislative authorities designed to protect workers,
identify safety and health resources, and familiarize executives,
supervisors, collateral duty safety program coordinators, and employees
with their roles and responsibilities in creating and maintaining
an environment in keeping with the Department of the Interior’s
safety motto, "Safety First, Every Job, Every Time."
Each Interior bureau is announcing mandatory training requirements
and the availability of this training on its own schedule. To see
the requirements for your organization, click on “Classroom
and Online Course Offerings” in the left sidebar, and then
on “Training Curricula.” For each occupational health
and safety curriculum, there is bureau-specific information as well
as a brief description and a listing of the courses included in
the curriculum. If there is no specific curriculum
for your organization, your bureau has not yet announced its occupational
safety and health training program. Anyone can view the general
Departmental Occupational Safety and Health Curriculum and access
those courses. Logging into the DOIU learning management system
before viewing the curricula will restrict your view to the curricula
available for your organization. Bureau of Reclamation employees
should contact their training coordinators for access to this training.
For training related to aviation safety, go to http://iat.nifc.gov
. For general questions about safety or the content of these courses,
